As I'm sure most are aware, we were hax0red.  The bastiches actually deleted pretty much everything off of the site.  Fortunately, they didn't hack the DB, so it was easy to restore everything.  I was sorta hoping that DH would be able to restore from a backup, but it appears they're on x-mas vacation already.

In any case, some things have to change.  First of all, I have to completely change the passwords for the DH account and everything related to the domain.  Fortunately, the bastiches didn't discover the other sites I'm hosting and hax them, too, so I'm pretty sure a quick change of passes will solve problems for now.

The next thing to change is pafiledb.  It's gone.  Completely and will never come back.  Also, pretty much everything in the gallery's gone, too.  Only way that'll come back is if DH can restore that from a backup, but I doubt it.  Not something I'm going to put a lot of energy into at least until next week, so please bare with me until I've at least gotten it working again.

Hey maybe we should have an emergency call list, like in case of Distater Recovery.  We should put all of our e-mails on a spreadsheet, then distribute to everyone so we have a way of communicating to each other in time of crisis.

You can restore the files yourself from a special hidden set of folders. I don't have the info at the tip of my fingers but I'll look it up in the morning. They don't backup anything at all but mirror all files on a set schedule. It goes back quite a ways, too. You can't recover databses but all files are there.

Xfire! I run it as soon as I turn on my pc. Messaging, chat rooms and they also have VOIP like TS built in.

Thanks, Neil...  I'm thinking it's mostly resolved now, and we should be pretty secure.  A little miffed right now that the devs for phpbb haven't updated in forever (beta test this, beta test that, but no live enviro releases).  Don't think phpbb was the issue that gave us away, but in terms of securing the entire site we're sorta stuck.

Think it might be time to look into a different forum software.  One in which we know we're secure.
