Topic: What SSD

So I was thinking of toying with liquid cooling, and decided against it.
I have made up my mind now to invest in a 64gb SSD. My question to all the geeks here, which one should I get.
I am looking at either the Patriot Torqx, or the Corsair Extreme. Both have 64mb dram, and both use the indilinx controller to prevent stuttering.

I Like the Warranty , at least it will outlast the next Cod6 & set of patches.

So what did you get? Im now considering SSD, Im going to do a new build when I get my preordered W7. I really do not want to get anything less then my current HD size of 150GB. I was looking at a 256GB Corsair for about $600. Question did you get a doc bay for it and do you still have a backup disk drive?

I would suggest getting 2 64gb's and setting up a raid 0+1.
Use the SSD's for striping, and a mechanical for mirror.

I suggest the raid because of an idiosyncracie inherent to all SSD's, they do not process game maps very well when they are stand alone. Loading the OS and any file or program, they smoke. They just have a problem with the large map files. It is still faster than a standard drive but would kill the velociraptor once in RAID.

To answer your first question, I went with the Patriot Torx. Same price as Corsair, same controller, and Patriot is right here in Fremont. Anything happens, they are right down the road.

One thing to keep in mind for anybody wanting SSD's, go to the manufacturer's website for the one you get, and download the latest firmware. You WILL need it when you recieve your drive. Flashing is easy, you plug in the drive, make sure the jumper is on, go to an existing OS, and run the update. Do this before loading anything because this will wipe the new SSD.

Why +1 and not just 0? You just playing it safe with two 7200 rpms for backup?

To be honest though, the one I have right now is stable with n o issues. So, may not really need a mirror.
