Generic question. Portable or external? Assuming size and price are the same. Let the discussion beging. ( can you tell it's getting close to Black Friday?)

By portable, you mean flash drive?  Not sure what you mean by that.  External HDs can be portable, except that you need the necessary cables with them.  Flash drives usually have a usb connection as part of the device.  External drives, however, can be faster and hold more data.

Guess I'm missing the definition of "portable".

Its the little blue thing at events or construction sites you go in and its really hot and smelly in there, jeepers even I knew that  :wave

I think when a drive is called "portable" its usually a smaller form factor like a 2.5" drive and does not require AC power, but can get power from a USB port.
