Topic: Throwing the towel...

It happened before and it happened again...  BF is bringing the worst out of me...  This time I will stop before getting frustrated and doing thing I will later regret...

I can't stand the amount of BS I see while playing. People got to know the maps and the game issues way too fast and this is no longer fun.  Getting sniped with RPGs across the map is just one example of what I have seen. Not to mention the tanks just bombing the objectives from a safe distance where noone can touch them... Last night I was on a server that was supposedly PB protected, yet I was on the 3rd floor of a building and a guy knifed me from the floor.  I died and my body fell through the building to his feet. I saw it from my character and from the kill cam. 

nope... not for me... I'll uninstall BF this evening and will think about the next FPS.

Too bad you didn't hang with us much.  Think I only saw you once.  I mean, it's probably an issue of time difference and such, but still think it's a shame we didn't hang much on this game.

Should also note that poor adminning is an issue with this game.  There's a ton of servers out there, yet only a handful of them receive the appropriate attention from admins.  And only so many of those have decent admins that respect other players.  I'd like to think, and I hope everyone else here agrees, that ours is one of the better ones.  I just don't think we've seen you play on our server more than once.

Anyway, I can't blame you for giving it up.  Even with a good server, it is hard to ignore all of the development issues with the game.  It gets better when you're with a decent crowd that you're familiar with, but it's still hard to ignore.

Anyway, I'm hoping for another FPS that draws some real interest that isn't shit upon by the developers (or more to the point, not a console port).  Seems very few developers are headed in that direction anymore, but one can only hope a good one comes along (remember when CoD came out how great it was to see a game so well thought out?).

I have to admit, every new game I play, tends to wear on me after a while.  Seems like so many things are just not thought of by the developers, and people tend to exploit certain elements of the game, causing it to not be so much fun. 

The only thing I can say is that no matter how sucky a game seems to be, the best way I have fun with it is when I am playing with a majority of people I know.  Meaning, if I am on a server and most of the people are guys in the clan, or regular guys who we play with all the time, it seems to be tolerable as their are less people doing things to piss you off.  When you get to be part of a regular group of people, they tend to be more respectful of each other. 

I think I played COD WOW for 100s of hrs, and a lot of them were when we hooked up with the DB clan, who seemed to be a good group of guys. 

Even in BF2, it seems to be more enjoyable when we are playing on the PnX server, with all of the PnX guys, including some new regulars we have befriended.  It does help to have admins keep control of the server too, like they have been doing here. 

In any event Venom, I would bet you would like playing a bit more, if you were able to play with us, but I do understand how frustration can set in in these games.

Yep is does depend on the server you play on with BC2. The game can still wear thin with all the issues. Spawn kills and head shots a mile across the map with an uzi behind a rock. If it wasn't for the server at pnx and admins this download would of been a virtual coaster by now. Vennom Give it another shot on the pnx server , we play most nights.
Just hope Black ops will not follow the trend as another port over from the console hackers paradise.
Bring back the dedicated server files , mapping & mod tools.

Venom. Try the server " polite and friendly server". It's full or near full all the time. They usually have an admin on. I play there most of the time since I don't play much at night. Then around 9pm join the pnx server.

Oh, BTW its "throwing in the towel.", as in the ring.  If you just throw a towel, then you are probably doing laundry or perhaps work as a made cleaning up hotel rooms.......

Is that made, as in "made man"?  Or maid, as in "cleaning specialist"?  Cause I can't really picture a "made man" doing any cleaning in hotel rooms...  well, then again.  I suppose on occasion they do some "cleaning"...

If your on more during the day Venom...follow me around. I never stay at stupid ass servers. Actually there are a choice few I like to visit regularly, including PNX and =ETS=.  The others are full of so much asshattery....its pathetic.

Sorry, had the movie "Maid in Mahattan" with JLo on my brain.  Was thinking of the pun between the word 'maid' and 'made', because of how she was a maid but also from Manhattan and "had it made".  That movie is so romantic, it makes me cry..........

The PnX Server is always empty when Im on (some mornings and mostly at 19:00 to 21:00 Central Time on weekdays)
